Learning Outcomes

A 4-week series where kids will learn about spiritual warfare. The lessons will cover the origin of the spiritual war, who their spiritual enemies are, how to engage in spiritual warfare, and how Christ gives them victory.

Key Word

Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the rulers, the authorities and the powers of this dark world. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world. – Ephesians 6:12 (NIRV)

 

Part 1

Key Point: I have victory because God’s team wins

Key Scripture:

But let us give thanks to God! He gives us the victory because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done.

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NIRV)

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Learn that spiritual warfare began in unseen realms between God’s Team and Satan’s Team.
  • Discover that Jesus is the promised seed of Eve who would destroy the devil and all his work.
  • Understand that we have the victory when we make Jesus the Lord of our lives.

Part 3

Key Point:  I have victory because God is in me

Key Scripture:

Dear children, you belong to God. You have not accepted the teachings of the false prophets. That’s because the one who is in you is powerful. He is more powerful than the one who is in the world.

1 John 4:4

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Learn about spiritual discernment at the reason it is important to test the spirits.
  • Discover how to equip themselves with the armour of God by keeping Jesus and the redeeming work He did on the cross as the focus of their lives.
  • Understand that God has given them divine protection from spiritual forces because God is in them.

Part 2

Key Point: I have victory because of who God is

Key Scripture:

He took away the weapons of the powers and authorities. He made a public show of them. He won the battle over them by dying on the cross.

Colossians 2:15 (NIRV)

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Discover that the devil is not equal to God in power by learning about their attributes.
  • Know that the devil has no power over them when they live obedient to Christ.
  • Understand that the devil is already a defeated foe because of Jesus’ work of redemption on the cross.

Part 4

Key Point:  I have victory because God has given me authority

Key Scripture:

The 72 returned with joy. They said, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we speak in your name.”  Jesus replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to walk all over snakes and scorpions. You will be able to destroy all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you. But do not be glad when the evil spirits obey you. Instead, be glad that your names are written in heaven.”

Luke 10:17-20

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Learn that Christ gave them Kingdom authority to destroy all the power of the enemy and advance God’s Kingdom.
  • Discover the Word of God is a weapon and how to use it for spiritual warfare.
  • Understand that obedience and intimacy with God increase their confidence to exercise the authority Christ gave them.
