Learning Outcomes
A 4-week series where kids will learn about God’s calling for every believer. They will learn what a God calling is, the reason for the call, and who God calls us to be.

Part 1

Key Point: God calls us His children

Key Scripture:

See what amazing love the Father has given us! Because of it, we are called children of God. And that’s what we really are!
1 John 3:1a (NIRV)

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Learn the foundational principles about God’s calling.
  • Understand that God calls everyone to be His children.
  • Know the difference between a person being a creation of God and being a child of God born of the Spirit.

Part 3

Key Point: God calls and equips us

Key Scripture:

Jesus went up on a mountainside. He called for certain people to come to him, and they came. He appointed 12 of them so that they would be with him. He would also send them out to preach. And he gave them authority to drive out demons.
Mark 3:13-15 (NIRV)

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Understand that God calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
  • Learn that God gives us everything we need to live a life for the calling and purpose He gives us.
  • Know that God equips and trains us when we spend time with Him every day

Part 2

Key Point: God calls us for His purpose

Key Scripture:

We were also chosen to belong to him. God decided to choose us long ago in keeping with his plan. He works out everything to fit his plan and purpose.
Ephesians 1:11 (NIRV)

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Know that God calls us for His purpose to participate in His story of love for people.
  • Learn that God had a plan and purpose prepared for us before we were born.
  • Understand how to find their specific calling by spending time with God in prayer.

Part 4

Key Point: God calls us to be like Jesus

Key Scripture:

God planned that those he had chosen would become like his Son. In that way, Christ will be the first and most honoured among many brothers and sisters.
Romans 8:29 (NIRV)

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Know that every disciple of Jesus has a calling to be just like Him.
  • Understand how to express being like Jesus in their daily lives.
  • Learn what being like Jesus is in this world and when they are in God’s Kingdom.
