A three-part series where kids will learn about the Biblical practice of Water Baptism.

Part 1

Key Point: What is the Big Splash (Water Baptism)?

Key Scripture:

There is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.
Ephesians 4:5 (NIRV)

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Learn that water baptism means to be immersed entirely in water.
  • Know we are baptised in the name of Jesus to show others we belong to Him.
  • Understand that we participate (or join) in Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection during water baptism.

Part 3

Key Point: Believers do the Big Splash straight away

Key Scripture:

The official said, “Look! Here is water! What can stop me from being baptised?” He gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the official went down into the water. Philip baptised him.
Acts 8:36-38 (NIRV)

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

    • Know that the water baptism is for every disciple of Jesus,
    • Understand that a disciple of Jesus should be water baptised as soon as they practically can.
    • Learn that they only need to trust in Jesus to be ready for water baptism.

Part 2

Key Point: Why do the Big Splash (Water Baptism)?

Key Scripture:

But John tried to stop him. So he told Jesus, “I need to be baptised by you. So why do you come to me?” Jesus replied, “Let it be this way for now. It is right for us to do this. It carries out God’s holy plan.” Then John agreed.

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Know the reason why a disciple of Jesus should get water baptised.
  • Learn that Jesus got baptised to set an example for His disciples, not to have His sins washed away.
  • Understand that a disciple should make their own decision to be water baptised for the right reasons.
