Kids will learn about their identity in Christ as they explore who God says they are through scripture in Romans 8.

Part 1

Key Point: I have faith in the name of Jesus

Key Scripture:

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. Here is what you must say to the Israelites. Tell them, ‘I AM has sent me to you.

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Understand that faith is required for God to move in miraculous ways.
  • Learn through the story of Moses and Jesus that faith in the name of God (who God is) allows for miracles.
  • Know how to grow their faith and trust in God by spending time with Him daily.

Part 3

Key Point: There is compassion in the name of Jesus

Key Scripture:

He said to her, “Dear woman, your faith has healed you. Go in peace. You are free from your suffering.
Mark 5:34 (NIRV)

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Learn through the example of Jesus that the motive for miracles should come from compassion and love.
  • Know how to express love and compassion in their daily lives as they follow Jesus’ example.
  • Understand that works or results done without love as the motivating factor, will not impress God.

Part 2

Key Point: There is power in the name of Jesus

Key Scripture:

Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the LORD. The god who answers by fire—he is God.
1 Kings 18:24 (NIRV)

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Understand that the power in the name of Jesus comes from the Person of Jesus.
  • Learn through the story of Elijah that there is power in the name of the Lord and nothing is impossible for God despite the odds.
  • Know the more we deepen our relationship with Jesus, the more open and available we become for God to outwork His power in our life.

Part 4

Key Point: Jesus is the Name above all name!

Key Scripture:

Peter said, I don’t have any silver or gold. But I’ll give you what I do have. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk.
Acts 3:6 (NIRV)

Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this lesson children will:

  • Learn through the story of Peter and the beggar that when we have an intimate relationship with Jesus, we can speak the name of Jesus with authority to outwork miracles.
  • Know that God pours His Spirit on every believer, regardless of age.
  • Understand that Jesus is the name above all names because He carries authority and power over all things.
