Hi Parents,

Even though we’re not meeting in one location, we’re so excited to provide some resources to partner with you in your child’s discipleship journey.

Below we have included some suggestions for how you can make the most of the Primary resources for use with your child at home. Have fun!

Worship & Prayer

We highly recommend you involve your child during your own time of worship. Whether that’s during the Live stream, or in the car – your example is powerful.

Here are some other songs we have played regularly in Neuma Kids services:

Real Love – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__5xUl7aVsQ

Alive – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEvEVALLjNQ

Who You Say I Am – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcC1Bp13n_4

Victory is Yours – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgTavMhgn00

King Of My Heart – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbBQ94PZEkE

For a child, prayer doesn’t need to be any more complicated than “talking to God”. Just like worship – nothing is more effective in teaching your child to pray than setting an example. Make it a part of your everyday experience and your child will see how prayer develops our intimacy with God and fuels power. Some ideas:

  • Pray when they face a challenge
  • Pray when something great happens – thank and praise God
  • Pray for other people, the church and our Mission partners

Teaching Video

The teaching video follows a 3 or 4 Part series through a topic – many of which align directly with our church’s Kingdom Culture. These videos a filmed by the Neuma Kids team and aim to introduce a different angle or view on the topic.

We recommend you watch the video with your kids as it will provide a great foundation for further discussion. The videos certainly aren’t exhaustive, but rather set a foundation for further discipleship.

Bible Discussion

After watching the video is an opportunity to review and reflect on what has been shared. You could re-read the Bible Passage (by the way, an audio version of the Bible can help engage some kids!), ask them some of the discussion questions and also pray with your child.

The purpose of this time is discipleship – what it looks like, how long it goes for, where it happens etc. are all much less important. The whole goal is for your child to grow in their relationship with God and their likeness with Jesus.

Extra Activities

Included are a range of activities – some short and simple that are more appropriate to younger kids and others require some confidence using and reading their Bible. The activities are primarily intended to engage your child while you explore the topic in more depth. For example, as your child is colouring-in, you could ask them how they can apply the lesson into their everyday life.
