Hi Parents,

Even though we’re not meeting in one location, we’re so excited to provide some resources to partner with you in your child’s discipleship journey.

Below we have included some suggestions for how you can make the most of the Preschool resources for use with your child at home. Have fun!

Worship & Prayer

We highly recommend you involve your child during your own time of worship. Whether that’s during the Live stream, or in the car – your example is powerful.

Here are some other songs we have played regularly in Neuma Kids services:

Jesus you’re my Superhero – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FY4C930M2Y

My God is so Big – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDCTNhYqEKo

You are Awesome – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MM2naUfkgo

Who’s the King of the Jungle – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2863-Ko08U

For a child, prayer doesn’t need to be any more complicated than “talking to God”. Just like worship – nothing is more effective in teaching your child to pray than setting an example. Make it a part of your everyday experience and your child will see how prayer develops our intimacy with God and fuels power. Some ideas:

  • Pray when something good happens – Thank and praise Him
  • Pray when something bad happens – Ask God for help
  • Pray for other people

Teaching Video

The video for each unit is very interactive.

The main character, Emily, goes on an adventure to discover the answer to a question. Along her journey she will pause and ask the viewers to interact with her, for example:

  • repeat phrases,
  • help her find the answer to questions,
  • repeat the Bible verse, and
  • sing songs

While you are viewing the video with your child prompt them to respond at the appropriate times. Your prompting will help the kids remain engaged in the video and it’s also a lot of fun!

Questions & Verse

Throughout the week, you can review the lesson by asking your child the main question. It’s also a good opportunity to explore the topic in more detail or from another angle. The Question-Answer style of the lesson helps kids see the relevance of the topic and make it easier for them to apply the Biblical principles into their day-to-day experiences.

The Key Verse is an opportunity for your child to begin to make God’s word their foundation. By reciting it with the actions, not only are they remembering it for later, you’re planting seeds of truth that they can apply directly to their life.

Activity Sheet

If you have access to a printer, make a copy of the activity sheet and you can complete the activities with your child. Alternatively, some of the activities on the sheet can be completed without having to print.

Bible App

We have also included a link at the bottom on the webpage to an app that can be downloaded. This includes the Bible story used in the video with some added features and interactive elements. It’s a great app that allows kids to interact with the Bible story itself and play games.
